WI-1012 – Wiping the Upright TracksUpdated a month ago

Applies to the Following SKUs:
CLCN22
CLCN23
CLPR22

Background

The upright tracks should be wiped down on a regular, biweekly interval, or every 200,000 feet climbed. Wiping the upright tracks reduces the risk of debris embedding into the handle and pedal carriage wheel which may damage the bearings.

Tools Required
Clean, dry cloth
4mm Hex Key (if Quick Release pins are not available)
5mm Hex Key (if Quick Release pins are not available)

Procedure

  1. Without standing on the machine, level the handles and pedals so they’re at roughly the same height.
  2. This step requires the silver upright upper pulley lockout pins that were initially installed in the uprights. If pins are not available, use the 4mm and 5mm hex keys. Insert the pins (or hex keys) through the slot in the upper pulley of each upright so that it goes all the way through the upper pulley bracket and prevents the handle/pedal from moving more than about ½ inch. These pins or hex keys need to stay installed for safety until the maintenance is complete.

  3. Using a clean, dry cloth, wipe the inside of the upright’s handle and pedal tracks on the 6 faces indicated on the image. Wipe above and below both the handle and pedal carriages. Repeat on the alternate side upright.

DO NOT USE ANY CLEANERS ON THE TRACKS.
